Waiting on Wednesday (11)

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine.

Title: The Bitter Kingdom
Author: Rae Carson
Series: Fire and Thorns #3
ISBN: 978-0062026545
Publisher: Greenwillow Books
Release Date: August 27, 2013

Synopsis from Goodreads: The epic conclusion to Rae Carson's Fire and Thorns trilogy. The seventeen-year-old sorcerer-queen will travel into the unknown realm of the enemy to win back her true love, save her country, and uncover the final secrets of her destiny. Elisa is a fugitive in her own country. Her enemies have stolen the man she loves in order to lure her to the gate of darkness. As she and her daring companions take one last quest into unknown enemy territory to save Hector, Elisa will face hardships she's never imagined. And she will discover secrets about herself and her world that could change the course of history. She must rise up as champion-a champion to those who have hated her most.

My Reveries and Ramblings: I can't wait to read this book. I read the first two books in the series ( The Girl of Fire and Thorns and The Crown of Embers) in 2 or 3 days. I immediately hit the "purchase" button on my kindle to buy The Bitter Kingdom, only to find out that it hadn't been released yet. I cannot even begin to describe the tantrum I threw at that point. How could this happen?! How will I survive the few weeks until it came out. (Yes, I started the series several weeks ago). But now, SIX MORE DAYS! AND I have already pre-ordered it.
If you haven't read this series, I highly recommend you do. It is epic, fantastic, and romantic. You won't regret it!

Waiting on Wednesday (10)

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine.

Title: Illuminated
Author: Erica Orloff
ISBN: 978-0142413760
Publisher: Speak
Release Date: December 8, 2011

From Goodreads: An epic romance full of mysteries that transcend time—fans of Romeo and Juliet and The Time Traveler’s Wife will rejoice!

Some loves are not made to last . . . Like Romeo and Juliet, Heloise and Abelard were doomed from the start, and their romance was destined to pass into history. Yet when sixteen-year-old Callie Martin discovers a diary hidden within an antique book, their story—and hers—takes on another life. For the diary leads Callie to the brilliant and handsome August, who is just as mysterious as the secret the diary hides. Their attraction is undeniable. As the two hunt down the truth behind the diary—and that of Heloise and Abelard’s ancient romance—their romance becomes all-consuming. But Callie knows it can’t last . . . love never does. Will their love that burns as bright as a shooting star flame out, or will these star-crossed lovers be able to defy history?

My Reveries and Ramblings: The cover is GORGEOUS!  I just love it! Anything Romeo and Juliet related gets an automatic place on my list.  Although, this looks like it is so much more than a star-crossed lovers story.  So excited.

Waiting on Wednesday (9)

Waiting on Wednesday is an awesome weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine.

Title: Fateful
Author: Claudia Gray
ISBN: 978-0007428267

Publisher: Harper Collins Children's Books

 Release Date: September 13, 2011

From Goodreads:
It's about a servant girl named Tess in 1912, who wants to escape from the house where she works, and most particularly the lecherous young lord of the manor. But that's not her biggest problem. While on a voyage to America, where she plans to escape and start a new life, she meets Alec, who's ruggedly handsome, fabulously wealthy, intelligent and yet so clearly troubled that she'd rather not fall for him, but she does. That also is not her biggest problem. Alec, it turns out, is a werewolf ... one cursed to change every night, unless and until he surrenders his independence and joins the Brotherhood, a pack of violently misogynistic werewolves who have been tracking him for months. You'd think that would be their biggest problem, wouldn't you?

But no. Their biggest problem -- though they don't know it yet -- is that they're aboard the RMS Titanic.

My Reveries and Ramblings: Titanic love story; Check! Paranormal Romance; Check! Historical Romance; Check! I can't find anything to dislike about this book. It has everything I could ever want and more. I seriously hope this book is just as epically romantic as Titanic (the movie).

Waiting on Wednesday (8)

Waiting on Wednesday is a really cool meme hosted by Breaking the Spine.

Title: Torrent
Author: Lisa T. Bergren
Series: The River of Time #3
ISBN: 978-1434764294
Publisher: David C. Cook
Release Date: September 1, 2011

From Goodreads:
When Gabi and Lia finally learn to surf the river of time, they realize they must make hard choices about life and love in the third and final book in the River of Time series.
Gabi and Lia Betarrini have learned to control their time travel, and they return from medieval Italy to save their father from his tragic death in modern times. But love calls across the centuries, and the girls are determined to return forever—even though they know the Black Plague is advancing across Europe, claiming the lives of one-third of the population. In the suspenseful conclusion of the River of Time series, every decision is about life … and death.
My Reveries and Ramblings:  If you haven't already read this series then get to it! I actually finished reading this book last night (a HUGE thank you to the author!) Honestly, this is my one of my favorite book series EVER! It doesn't even compare to Twilight (sorry Twilight fans-I love those books too, its just these are BETTER-in my opinion). So I strongly recommend you pre-order your copy. I know that I am definitely going to buy a copy for my kindle and a hard copy for my bookshelf. I just LOVE this series.

Title: Shadowman
Author: Erin Kellison
Series: Shadow #3
ISBN: 978-1420118964
Release Date: September 2011

From Goodreads:
Ghosts
They haunt the halls of the Segue Institute, terrifying the living, refusing to cross over. But one soul is driven by a very different force. It survives even death. And Kathleen O’Brien swore she would return to those she was forced to leave too soon.
Shadowman
He broke every rule to have her in life; now he will defy the angels to find her in death.
The Gate
Forging it is his single hope of being reunited with his beloved, but through it an abomination enters the world. Leaving a trail of blood and violence, the devil hunts her too. Pursued through realms of bright fantasy and dark reality, Kathleen is about to be taken.

My Reveries and Ramblings:
This is such a unique urban fantasy series.  Its filled with humans, fae, angels, and Death himself.  I've been looking forward to this book since I started the series this back at the beginning of the summer.  Whenever he'd make an appearance in the previous books, I'd hold my breath knowing he was going to go away.  But now, he gets his own book (YAY!) and hopefully we'll see him get together with Kathleen (flashback to first scene in the first book).

Publisher: Poppy
Release Date: January 2, 2012

Pre-order:  Amazon  |  B&N  |  Book Depository

Goodreads:  Who would have guessed that four minutes could change everything?  Today should be one of the worst days of seventeen-year-old Hadley Sullivan's life. She's stuck at JFK, late to her father's second wedding, which is taking place in London and involves a soon to be step-mother that Hadley's never even met. Then she meets the perfect boy in the airport's cramped waiting area. His name is Oliver, he's British, and he's in seat 18B. Hadley's in 18A.   Twists of fate and quirks of timing play out in this thoughtful novel about family connections, second chances and first loves. Set over a 24-hour-period, Hadley and Oliver's story will make you believe that true love finds you when you're least expecting it.

My Reveries and Ramblings:  This book looks absolutely awesome! I’m a sucker for true love stories.  And since I travel a lot, it makes me hopeful to think that meeting one’s soul mate/true love on a plane is actually possible.  And I. Want. This. Now.  Like, NOW NOW NOW NOW!!!
