Blog Hop (13) and Follow Friday (10)

The Blog Hop and Follow Friday are a weekly memes hosted by Crazy-for-Books and Parajunkee's View.   It is a great way to network and find new blogs.

Question:  How/Where do you get your books? Do you buy them or go to the library? Is there a certain website you use like paperbackswap?

My Answer:  I don't really limit myself to a specific source.  Usually, I get my books from wherever is cheapest.  Obviously the library is first.  If they don't have the book or if its a book in a series that I love then I'll buy it.  Even then I'll choose the cheapest format.  Of course there's the weekly trip to B&N and the coupons that must be used.  (It's a waste to not use them!)  Then there's NetGalley (love!) and books I get from authors for review.  So to actually answer the question-I get them from EVERYWHERE!

Question:  What do I do when I'm not reading?

My Answer:  When I'm not reading, I'm usually sleeping.  When I'm not passed out on the couch or my bed, I'm baking.  I LOVE to bake.  It is so much fun!  I do watch TV, but not a lot.  I have bad ADD so when I watch TV, I have to be doing something else like reading, going online, baking, etc.

QUESTION: How many books are currently in your To-Be-Read (TBR) pile?
ANSWER:  A lot.  My TBR list on goodreads has about 936 books-and it grows everyday.

QUESTION:  Genre Wars! What's your favorite genre and which book in that genre made it your favorite?

ANSWER: Paranormal Romance.  I'm sorry, but I have to say it: It all started with Twilight.  Yep.  That was the first paranormal romance book I ever read.  Actually, Twilight was what got me into reading.

What's your favorite genre? AND How many books are in your TBR pile?

This weeks question:

Just like Ashley said (love it) "Ashley the girl..." who are You the Boy/Girl, instead of You the Blogger?

My Answer:  As Caroline the girl, I'm a sophomore in college.  I'm a Communications major with a concentration in Advertising.  I would eventually like to work in publishing or music (on the advertising side of them).  I love music.  I spend almost all of my time outside of class (when I'm not sleeping or reading) listening to music.  I could spend hours searching the internet and itunes for new music to listen to.  I also love to travel, even though I hate planes.  One day I'd like to do a trip similar to Elizabeth Gilbert's in Eat Pray Love, including a very similar outcome :)

Blog Hop Hop Hopping

Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee's View.  Both Follow Friday and The Blog Hop are great ways to find new blogs and network your own.  This week's blog feature is Totally Obsessed!
Question:  Share your current fav. television show!  Tell us a bit about it...
My Answer:  It's tied between FRIENDS and Glee.  If you haven't seen FRIENDS-get out from under that rock.  Same thing goes for Glee.  I've loved FRIENDS for years, my love for this show started around the time the series ended.  It will always be #1.  I've seen every episode countless times and I still laugh like it's the first time.  I still cry I'm laughing so hard.  I first saw Glee the summer before it premiered on FOX when itunes was selling the first episode for free.  So I got it, mostly because it was free.  And loved it!!!! I love music (obviously) and Glee is like an hour long weekly musical.

Question:  Do you ever wish you would have named your blog something different?
My Answer:  No.  I love the name I chose.  I spent weeks with a thesaurus trying to come up with it.

FRIDAY!

Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee's View.  This week's featured blogger is Aaron (Book Addict) of Dreaming About Other Worlds.
Question: If you are a fan of Science Fiction what is your favorite book? If you haven't read Science Fiction before...any inkling to? Anything catch your eye?

My Answer:  I don't read that much science fiction-only because it kind of freaks me out...not sure why though.  But I did start The Host a while ago and I really liked it, but had to return it to the library before I could finish it.

Question:  What book(s) would you like to see turned into a movie?
My Answer:  I would love to see Juliet by Anne Fortier turned into a movie.  I will be posting a review for it soon.  It's basically like the Da Vinci Code but instead of Da Vinci and the supposed decedent of Jesus, it's Romeo and Juliet. It's actually one of my favorite books EVER.  It would be such a great movie ESPECIALLY since it takes place in Italy!

It. Is. FRIDAY!!!!

So.....it's friday.  Which means it's time to find new blogs to follow!  Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee's View.  This week's featured blog is: Ruby's Reads.  You can read her answer to this week's question here.
This week's question:  What is your favorite romance hero-type? Stereotype wise. Do you like the strong silent type or the brute macho man?
My Answer:  Well, I don't think I have a favorite-I love them all!  I did try to come up with one, though.  But it was too hard.  I love heroes like Barrons.  But at the same time ones like Edward Cullen.  These two characters are so very different.  I could never pick just one.

TGIF!

Book Blogger Hop
TGIF!!!! So with Friday comes The Book Blogger Hop.  It's hosted over at Crazy-for-Books.  I love participating each week.  I've discovered a ton of amazing blogs through the Hop.  Happy Hopping :)

Question of the Week:  What do you consider the most important in a story: the plot or the characters?

My Answer:  Well, in every book I read, I want to care about the characters.  If the book doesn't force me to feel something about any of the characters-hate, anger, love, etc.-then I will usually put the book down.  The characters either make the story or ruin it.

Follow Friday is also a great way to find awesome blogs.  It's hosted by Parajunkee's View.  This week Parajunkee is featuring Carmel @ Rabid Reads .

This week's Question:  What did you study in college, or are currently studying and did it lead to your current 9 to 5 or are you doing something totally different?

My Answer:  Last year I majored in Musical Theater then changed over the summer to Communications with a concentration in Entertainment Studies.  But I've found my calling in Advertising, SO I'm actually changing my concentration again to Advertising.  At the moment I don't have a job....but that's going to change next year.  My recent increase in spending (books and music) has taken a toll on my savings account.  I have to either get a job, or stop buying books (Ha! like that's ever going to happen)-look likes it's "get a job!" haha   What did you major in college?  Thinking about majoring in? or currently majoring in?

Friday!

Hello Everyone!  So it's friday once again :)  And you know what that means?  Follow Friday and Blog Hop!!!!!!

Follow Friday!!!

Follow Friday is a weekly event/feature hosted by Parajunkee that helps book bloggers meet other book bloggers.  This week's Follow Feature is Amanda from Another Book Junkie   Check out her awesome blog.

This week's question: Do you have an under-noticed author that you think we should all know about?
My Answer:  This is a tough one because most of the books I've seen on blogs have been the books I've read or am going to read.  Since I'm new to the blogging world, I'm not sure if Ken Follett ever got any blogs hyped up and excited.  I've only read his Pillars of the Earth-which was amazing by the way. I have the second book which I will probably read next year.  He is an amazing writer-if you haven't read the book, read it.  In terms of all my friends (and family),  Most of them don't read paranormal books (unless it was a movie and/or Edward Cullen related) at all and I feel that they are missing out on a great genre-most of the books I read have some paranormal aspect to them.  For them I would suggest Karen Marie Moning or Gail Carriger.

The Blog Hop!!!

Book Blogger Hop
The Blog hop is another great way to find amazing blogs and create awareness of your own blog.  It is hosted by Crazy-for-Books.

This week's question:  What is the thing you like most about reading book blogs?  Is it the reviews, author guest posts, articles, giveaways, or something else entirely?
My Answer:  I really like reading the reviews.  I really like when the blog's post inspires me to read the book.

My Answer:  I listen to music, dance when no one is watching, sing like crazy, play the piano, pretend that I know what I'm doing with a guitar, AND make videos (music, trailers, etc.) on my laptop <3

Book Blogger Hop

This Week's Question:  What very popular and hyped book in the blogosphere did you NOT enjoy and how did you feel about posting your review?
My Answer:  I've only been blogging for about a month so I have yet to read a popular and hyped book that I did not like.

It's Friday!!!

Book Blogger Hop
It's Friday and you know what that means: Blog Hop!  The blog hop, hosted by Crazy-For-Books, is a great way to find other amazing book blogs.
This week's question:  What is your favorite book cover?
My Answer:  Ah, this is a hard one.  I would have to say Torment by Lauren Kate.
The title and the cover coordinate spectacularly in every way.  They both capture how Luce feels throughout the novel from her relationship with Daniel and confusion about Miles to her frustration with her past lives.  Plus, that dress looks beautiful and I want one (cue 4 yr old whining sounds) -also an occasion to wear it would be nice too :)
